Pjstevens for Model Number 362.7516891 Have an older Kenmore gas range. Use oven regularly but yesterday when I turned it on, didn't get hot (warmed slightly). turned it off and waited and turned it back on. NOTHING. I just watched the video to replace the ignitor, do you think that is the problem. The stove top still works fine. We don't have a pilot light for the top and I don't believe there was a pilot in or below the oven. Thank you in advance for your assistance and for the easy to follow video.
Answer Hello PJStevens. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
