George for Model Number JGBP33weh5ww Bake in my gas range will not come on, but the broiler & burners work.
Answer Hello George, The most common failure here is the ignitor WB2X9154. If you can see it with a flashlight and there is a white spot on it, the ignitor has failed. Otherwise, the best way to check it is to use a clamp on ampmeter. You see, as a safety measure, if the ignitor isn't pulling enough current, it cannot open the gas valve. If the ignitor turns red, it's probably the problem. The ignitor has to turn almost white hot to draw enough current to open the gas valve. If you have a clamp on ampmeter TJCL1100, you can check by hooking it on one wire. It should read from 3.2 to 3.6 amps. If it is pulling the required current, the issue is either the bake burner WB16K22 or the gas valve WB19K10051. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, June 1, 2012
