Pete for Model Number jgbp86web2ww I feel stupid asking this as it seems like an easy fix but when I go to remove the oven ignitor, the two screws attaching the ignitor to the gas tube are imposible to remove. There not on top but on the bottom and also they are slightly angled downwards so you can't get a screwdriver on them. Do you have to remove the whole tube assembly to get at the screws?
Answer Hello Pete, yes you would be much better off to remove the burner assembly and them change out the ignitor. I believe there is only one screw holding the burner assembly in and then you just remove it from the orifice at the other end. It's much easier to work with when it's out. Be careful with the new ignitor as the filament is very fragile. You don't want to bump the assembly on anything and break the filament. Hope this helps! Read More...
