I have spoken with rep, and she said that I should seek help through technician. There is no smell or sound of gas coming through when I turn on the oven and broiler, or self-cleaning oven setting. What else could be the problem? A repair technician I understand charges anything from $160 to $200 for a visit! - What can be the problem?
Answer Hello Shelia. If the issue is only on the self clean, you will want to make sure the door is locking and the switch on the lock assembly is good. If so, you may need to replace the control on the unit. If the oven just does not work on any cycle, we need to test a few parts here. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
