Chris for Model Number TFX26CRDAWW After running for some hours the compressor stops while the fans continue before any shutoff due to reaching temperature. I can see the lights dim slightly about every 30 seconds so it seems to be trying to start again. Checking the compressor one finds it very hot and not running (much hotter than when running for hours). Unplug unit and wait for 15 minutes then it always starts and continues to run for a few hours but then will stop again. It will go through defrost cycle and then restart on its own at that point. I checked the relay and overload and they test to nominal ohm readings when the unit compressor had stalled. Could it be the relay or compressor. All evidences indicates the overload did not trip as the compressor seems stalled and is very hot to the touch after this has happened.
Answer Chris, If the unit is trying to start right after the compressor shuts off then it is not the relay causing the issue. Double check to make sure that the condenser fan is running and the condenser coils are clean. If these check ok then it sounds like the thermostat may be at faulty trying to restart the compressor when the unit had just shut off for reaching temp. Also check the door seals for a good seal.
