Eddie for Model Number Washer Ge Harmony WPGT9360E0WW, drain pump WH23X10020 My washer drains sometimes and sometimes it does not. When it doesn't is happens later in the rinse cycle. The pump is triggered but only makes a humming noise. If I drop the drain hose down to my mob bucket (18-20") it will drain out, but not at full flow rate. The pump motor turns off and the slow flow stops if I open the washer lid, so the pump is moving some water. I can use the washer a day later and it will work fine through the entire cycle. I suspect the pump motor in on the verge of going out but I do not know if this working/not working phenomena is attributable to the pump or a control issue. I pulled a cloth through the input/output of the pump and nothing appears to be stuck in there (along with checking the hoses). The plastic rotating piece also seems to move ok. The pump motor is warm during the ‘non-working’ condition but not overly hot. What do you think?
Answer Hello Eddie. The drain pump is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 16, 2013
