The burners use the air in the room for combustion. Typically there is some contaminant in the air in the room or house that is causing the color change in the burner's flame. Once that contaminant fades the odd flame color will stop. Some most common contaminants are fresh paint, new rugs or furniture, insecticides, cleaning solvents.
