Hello Pamela72, This looks like you are trying to install the start switch WE4X881. As per the tech sheet on the model provided, you will need to connect the brown wire to the number 1 terminal and the red to terminal 2. The wiring diagram does not show a tan wire so you will need to trace it back to see where it leads to so we can tell you accurately where to connect it. It only shows a double brown wire connecting to terminal number 1 and a double red wire connecting to terminal 2. the two brown wires lead to the belt switch and the timer contact C, and the two red wires lead to terminal 5 on the motor and the end of cycle signal.
