Fang, The rotary switch will have 2 wires that are connected to the same connector using a piggy back connection. These will then push on to the new terminal.

I am having trouble finding anyone with the exact same issue I am experiencing. My dryer will turn on, it will heat, the belt is not broken and the barrel turns, but what it will not do is stay running. When I turn the rotary switch, the dryer used to start running and stay running. When I let go of the switch, a spring inside would rotate the switch back to the default location, but the dryer would stay running. Now, when I turn the switch, the dryer comes on and sounds normal, until I let go of the switch. When I let go, the spring returns the switch back to the default position, but the dryer shuts off. I can still hear/see the timer working, but the dryer will not stay running. The only thing I have found close to the issue I am having references a part called the "Thermal Fuse" which I have not been able to find a part with that name for my dryer. I did however locate a part called the, "Thermal Cycle Switch" and I was able to remove the part from my dryer. I would just order it and replace it, but I would like to know if this part has anything to do with the issue. If it does not I would like to find out what part is likely the cause. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello Pamela72, This looks like you are trying to install the start switch WE4X881. As per the tech sheet on the model provided, you will need to connect the brown wire to the number 1 terminal and the red to terminal 2. The wiring diagram does not show a tan wire so you will need to trace it back to see where it leads to so we can tell you accurately where to connect it. It only shows a double brown wire connecting to terminal number 1 and a double red wire connecting to terminal 2. the two brown wires lead to the belt switch and the timer contact C, and the two red wires lead to terminal 5 on the motor and the end of cycle signal. We hope this information is useful for you in your repair.

John, you will want to check the door switch and ensure that it has continuity when depressed. If it does not show continuity when the switch is depressed, then you will want to change it out WE4M415. Another item you will want to check is the safety switch located near the motor. If it does not have continuity with nothing pressing on it, then it is bad WD21X10261. Aside from that, voltage is something that should always be checked for.

John, If you remove the screws on the back panel you will be able to remove the control panel and then pull the knob off and the switch should be twisted to remove.
