Travis for Model Number (GE) DCXR463EA1WW I am having trouble finding anyone with the exact same issue I am experiencing. My dryer will turn on, it will heat, the belt is not broken and the barrel turns, but what it will not do is stay running. When I turn the rotary switch, the dryer used to start running and stay running. When I let go of the switch, a spring inside would rotate the switch back to the default location, but the dryer would stay running. Now, when I turn the switch, the dryer comes on and sounds normal, until I let go of the switch. When I let go, the spring returns the switch back to the default position, but the dryer shuts off. I can still hear/see the timer working, but the dryer will not stay running. The only thing I have found close to the issue I am having references a part called the "Thermal Fuse" which I have not been able to find a part with that name for my dryer. I did however locate a part called the, "Thermal Cycle Switch" and I was able to remove the part from my dryer. I would just order it and replace it, but I would like to know if this part has anything to do with the issue. If it does not I would like to find out what part is likely the cause. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Answer Travis, The issue you are describing sounds like a motor issue, possible open run windings. Motor part# WE17X10010 Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 21, 2019
