J.F. for Model Number GFWR2700H0WW After a power surge, my dryer stopped functioning. I noticed the controller shorted. I replaced the Control board but I noticed the unit only powers up when I disconnect J1001. The board then returns a D3 error code (makes sense!). This J1001 connects to the RPS module WH12X23995. I disassembled the rotor and stator and removed the RPS module. The unit powers up. All cables checked Okay. I don't have a way to know if the module is good or not and before spending another 20$ I wanted your opinion.
Answer Hello J.F., The RPS WH12X23995 is a common failure on these units but you should check the harness first since a bad connection between the RPS and the control will give the same fault code. If no issue is found, replace the RPS. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, January 9, 2018
