Note: This is the complete solenoid assembly kit. For armature & linkage assembly only, use WD1X1316.

The Solenoid Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher by activating or deactivating the drain valve. This assembly is essential for ensuring that the dishwasher fills and drains at the correct times during the wash cycle, which is pivotal for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the appliance.

Common causes for a Solenoid Assembly to fail include wear and tear over time, mineral buildup from hard water, or electrical failures that prevent the solenoid from operating as intended.

Symptoms of a bad Solenoid Assembly include:

  • Failure of the dishwasher to drain properly, leading to water accumulation at the bottom.
  • The dishwasher not filling with water as it should, affecting the cleaning process.
  • Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher, which may indicate the solenoid is failing to engage or disengage correctly.

This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

My fridge compartment is not cooling. The freezer is working properly and the temp is 22 degrees with the control set at 5 (7 being the coldest) at the onset of the problem my fridge temp went up to 62 degrees with the control set at 5. I turned the fridge control off for several hours and turned it back on and set it at 7 (the coldest setting) The freezer has continued to operate at normal temp. The fridge section has maintaint a temp at 40 degrees for about a week with the setting at 7. It has now stopped cooling and the temp in the fridge has again reise to above 60 degrees, I turned it off again to see if it made a difference this time. It has not. Freezer operating normally, fridge not cooling at all. What parts do you recommend to correct this problem. Thank you for your help with this problem.

Answer

Eugene, It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
