John for Model Number GSD4000J00BB I have a leak coming from top of pump and hose connector. The band clamp is tight. What else could be causing it to leak?

Answer Hello John, If the standard factory clamp WD01X10065 was not used but a fuel type clamp was used, the plastic nipple that the hose connects to could be crushed inside the hose. This is a common issue with this design unit. The factory clamp can crush the nipple also but is not as common to see as the fuel type clamp since they give better leverage which causes the issue. You should also use a strong flashlight and inspection mirror to ensure the leak is originating from the place you assume it is. Read More...
