Jack for Model Number GSC23KSTASS I replaced spring and it was better. But the flap door still did not snap shut 100% of the time. Do do they make a stronger spring or do I need to replace the flap? The flap looks fine and solenoid seems ok too.
Answer Jack, the door flapper WR17X11653 should be inspected for any sections that may be bent inwards excessively as this can cause the door to not close fully and leave a small gap. It is possible that the solenoid is catching the arm and not allowing the door to shut fully. Also, if the spring was not turned one full revolution, it will not create a full tension to allow the spring to pull the door shut fully. Read More...
