The Switch Gas Valve is an OEM part for GE ranges. It is responsible for controlling the flow of gas to the burners, allowing them to ignite and maintain a steady flame for cooking.

Causes of a bad switch gas valve can include wear and tear over time, buildup of debris or grease, or damage from repeated use or accidental impact. These issues can hinder the valve's ability to regulate gas flow effectively.

Symptoms of a bad switch gas valve include:

  • Burners not igniting
  • Irregular or weak flame
  • Gas odor near the stove
  • Inconsistent burner performance

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Answer

Hi Sabe.I have tried to research your exact information, however we do not have this exact service manual. I can try to give you pointers which will help and you should be success full. First remove power. Then support your counter tops with towels so you can lift out your unit and set it onto the counter top without surface damage. You then have to basically start from the top and remove all knobs, burner grates, and burner caps. This will give you access to the burner screws. Lift them up carefully as so you have to remove the wire connection off each of the burner ignitors. The burner ignitors are porcelain (or ceramic), so be careful not to break them. This will allow you to see all glass top screws on the side of the burner box. Remove all side screws and lift up the glass top. This will give you access to the gas valve switch. Carefully lift switch off valve stem, disconnect wires and replace switch. I hope this helps. Thank you.
