Hello, I have a problem with washing machine not spinning, machine fills as normal, agitates thru wash cycle, pumps water out but doesn't spin. I removed front cover to observe motor, the Belt is intact, but not moving. The water pump continues to run, but machine wont spin. I have reset by unplugging machine and cycled washer lid up and down several times to reset. If the lid switch is faulty, will machine still agitate? I am assuming it won't, so I figure that it must be ok, Same with fill level switch, seems to have correct amount of water when it fills..

Answer

JJ, You will want to pull the belt off the motor and see if the motor turns without it on. If the motor turns with no belt on then the brake would be seized up causing the issue. If the motor does not turn then you will want to check for voltage to the motor from orange to dk blue. if there is no power then the timer would be the issue if there is power then the motor would be the issue but is not likely the case.
