Mark G. for Model Number GE top load washing machine Model #: WDSR2080DEWW My GE washing machine will not stop filling. How do I get to the pressure switch? Is it located in the back behind the controls, under the silver plate or in different location?
Answer Hello Mark, Before you replace any parts, here's a quick, easy test to try to figure out which part you will need. With the water turned on to the unit, start the machine and as it's filling, unplug the machine. If the water stops, you need the pressure switch. If the water doesn't stop, you need the water inlet valve. In either case you will need to open the control panel to access either the water inlet valve or the pressure switch. Very Important: At this point you should unplug the unit or otherwise isolate it from the power supply for your protection. Gloves are also strongly recommended as there are sharp edges exposed when the control panel is removed. To access the inside of the control panel, remove the 4 screws across the top of the control panel and flip it forward. Then slide it to one side to unhook the tabs on the bottom and lift it out.
