George B for Model Number wwhre5550k2ww This washer over-the-top overfilled; flooding the laundry room. If set at small load the water shuts off normally. Medium -- won't stop filling. Checked the pressure switch hose for any blockage. None seen. Based on a youtube video, let the tub fill and pull the power. The filling stopped which indicated that the inlet valve was fine. Is there any other part I should be checking/replacing other than the pressure switch?
Answer George, With the unit overfilling an shutting off when the unit power supply is pulled, it would be more likely that either the control board or the water level switch is faulty. You can do a resistance check on the water level switch when the unit is filling to see if it goes from being open to being closed when the water reaches the proper level. If it does but the unit continues to fill then the issue would be the control board. If it does not then the issue will be the pressure switch. Read More...
