Manufacturer Part Number: WB24X10047

The Door Interlock Switch is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It ensures the safety of the microwave by preventing the appliance from operating while the door is open. This switch is part of a microwave's safety mechanism, which includes multiple interlock systems designed to stop the generation of microwaves immediately once the door is opened, thereby protecting users from exposure to microwave radiation.

Signs that it's time to replace your door interlock switch include the microwave not starting or stopping unexpectedly, the microwave continuing to operate with the door open, or a failure to heat food even though the appliance seems to be running.

Symptoms of a bad Door Interlock Switch include:

  • Microwave does not start
  • Microwave stops unexpectedly
  • The microwave operates with the door open
  • Microwave turns on but does not heat food

This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Justin for Model Number JNM1541SM5SS

I have a G.E. microwave that is giving me trouble. The model number is JNM1541SM5SS.You put in the time it wants to cook and press start and it comes on and counts down but turntable inside does not spin and the microwave does not heat.I wrote your a few weeks back on the problem of microwave i am having and your mentioned the main board or smart board as it is called. So i ordered one and replaced it and microwave still does the same thing. So then i went down list of different parts i could change that might be causing the issue. Here is a list........ I replaced the Magnetron Replaced the turntable motor Replaced fuse on I believe they called it the filter board Replaced Capacitor and diode Replaced Door switch Replaced Replaced the two limits or tstat sensors that sit together at bottom of microwave Lastly replaced the limit or tstat that sits by itself to left of magnetron. One way or another researching through your site it said some of these parts could be problem so I replaced them and a few other parts i just went ahead and tryed replacing .After all of that work the microwave is still not working and doing the same as before i replaced all those parts.I am writing to your once again in hopes that your might have another idea of what could be my microwaves problem. There are not many more parts left on it i could replace, but i replaced so much already.I hope your can help. Thanks again for your time.

Answer

Hello Justin, if the top door interlock switch (secondary) is not working or faulty, on start there would be no power to the tt motor or the hv transformer for heating.
