Manufacturer Part Number: WH12X10202

The Timer is an OEM part for GE washing machines. This part controls the various cycles of the washing machine, including wash, rinse, and spin, by regulating the duration and sequence of operations.

Causes of a bad timer can include wear and tear over time, electrical issues such as short circuits or power surges, and mechanical failures within the timer mechanism.

Symptoms of a bad timer include:

  • The washing machine not advancing through cycles
  • The machine stopping mid-cycle
  • Inconsistent or incorrect cycle durations
  • The machine not starting at all

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Benny for Model Number GE WJSR2070B2WW

The same question I have already asked 2 days ago. The washing machine will spin, fill to any level, and drain. It will not agitate. The lid saftey swith works when I put in spin cycle and raise the lid. Was told before that I most likely needed a new timer which is what I would have guessed also. Ordered a new timer and still doing exactly the same thing. The last responce told me I needed a new agitator coupling. I am a little confused because if the coupling was bad I would be able to turn the agitator by hand but with all my might I cannot turn it. Also if the cycle was in the agitate mode would not the motor at least be running even with a stripped out coupling and at the same time the timer would be advancing? If I rotate the motor pulley the agitator will turn the same direction (spin Cycle), if I rotate the pulley the opposite direction the agitator will start one direction and then reverse directions (agitate cycle). I believe the transmission must be good or this would happen. I believe the coupling must be good or I would be able to spin it by hand. Why, after the machine fills with water, it will not agitate, why does the timer stop and go no further in the cycle. Can the motor be bad. I thought that a reversing motor should work no matter which way the current is fed to it. Is it possible that the motor could be bad going in one of two directions? What else is in the loop electricly that could stop the timer and not allow the machine to agitate if the motor is still good? Thanks for your responce, it's a puzzle to me.

Answer

Hello Benny, This sounds like the pressure switch WH12X10065 may not be making contact when the water level is up to full.
