The Timer Knob is an OEM part for GE dryers. Located on the control panel, this knob allows you to set desired drying times and select additional functions like air fluff or wrinkle release cycles.  It measures 2-3/4" in diameter and has a  1/8" extended shaft.

Causes of a faulty timer knob include wear from repeated grasping and twisting actions over years of use. Exposure to high dryer temperatures can also degrade the knob material over time.

Symptoms of a damaged timer knob include:

• Difficulty rotating the knob smoothly to desired time settings
• Dryer not initiating cycles properly based on knob position
• Loose wobbling knob that could potentially fall off 
• Cracking, chipping or discoloration on the knob exterior
