Ken for Model Number GTWP1800DOWW When I turn the dial to the proper setting to use the washer, the dial just spins without catching anything. It still pulls out and pushes in and if I manually turn the dial below it I can still use the washer. Is it my knob that is bad or the timer. I took the knob off and nothing seems to be broken on it but the metal shaft that it goes into wobbles a lot when the knob is pulled out to start the machine.
Answer Hello Ken, This is going to be either the dial assembly WH11X10049, the control knob assembly WH01X10310, or the timer assembly WH12X10527. You will need to pull the knob off to inspect the parts to determine the part at fault. To remove the knob straighten a paper clip and make a 1/8 inch 90° bend at the very end of it. Use this to hook the timer knob clip WH1X2117 and pull it out from the side. The knobs will then slip off. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, April 6, 2016
