Evelyn November 15, 2022 for Model Number GTWP1800D0WW GE Top Load Washer will not agititate even after changing the coupling. What else could be wrong with it?
1 Answer Evelyn, the front panel of the washer would need to be removed to observe the motor WH20X10093 status LED. If there is a flash pattern, the amount of times it flashes before it pauses would need to be identified as this can indicate a failure. Another test that can be done is testing the violet wire with a white stripe on the motor for 120VAC when it should be agitating. If there is voltage, the dark blue wire would need to be tested for 120VAC. If there is voltage on both wires, the motor has failed. If there is not voltage, it would be likely that the timer WH12X10527 has failed or there is a broken wire. Read More...
Magan December 11, 2021 for Model Number S2100G3WW My timer failed so I have replaced it. However water will not load into the unit at all. When I start the washer is sounds like it's just aggitating. Help!
1 Answer Magan, the pressure switch WH12X10065 would need to be tested for continuity from terminal 7 to terminal 15. If there is not continuity when the washer is empty of water and the pressure hose going to the tub is not clogged, the switch has failed and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Ronald February 23, 2021 for Model Number GLWN2800D1WS The washer will fill and drain, but it will not agitate or spin. The main control, (timer) is always making a clicking sound and has been for a while, even when it was working properly. Could this be a defective timer?
1 Answer Hello Ronald, While the timer could be the issue, it is recommended by the manufacturer to remove the front panel and look between the top of the motor and the splash guard that is mounted to the top of the motor. The flashing of the LED should be counted as this is how this unit gives the fault codes. The tech sheet in the control panel explains what each code means. Please let us know if you require further assistance. Read More...
James November 19, 2020 for Model Number glwn2800dows I need the control part (the whole assembly) that turn the washer on to start it. I am having to hold the back of it to get it to turn on. but now that is getting hard to do, seen like it is slipping now and getting hard. Thank James
John A March 03, 2018 for Model Number GCWP1805D1CC The washer will not fill no water will go in tub. But if I turn the knob to rinse water will go in the tub.
1 Answer John, When you start the washer check to see if there is 120 vac to the water valve. If there is not 120 vac then the timer will most likely be the issue and if there is then the water valve will most likely be the cause. Read More...
Bud October 22, 2017 for Model Number glwn2800d1ws My washer will only fill 1/2 way in the rinse cycle (set to ex-large or super). Fills all the way on same settings for wash. ??? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bud, you'll want to examine the pressure hose for any kinks or clogs. This could prevent your unit from filling up all the way on the second fill cycle, hope this helps! Read More...
Perry November 13, 2016 for Model Number hswp1000m4ww Continues to drain in rinse cycle until you manually turn the knob to finish rinse and go to next cycle.
1 Answer Perry, This issue would most likely be caused by a stuck contact in the timer of the unit which would need to be replaced. Read More...
Curt October 31, 2016 for Model Number GCWP1800D1WW this washer will make intermittent clicking noises when lid is closed it doesn't matter if timer is engaged or not. I select a cycle to fill and when it is done it will immediately start to drain the water and start spin without washing or rinsing. could this be the timer? Thanks for your time. Curt
1 Answer Curt, Based on the unit filling with water and then draining just as soon as it is done would indicate bad contacts in the timer of the unit. Read More...
Ken April 04, 2016 for Model Number GTWP1800DOWW When I turn the dial to the proper setting to use the washer, the dial just spins without catching anything. It still pulls out and pushes in and if I manually turn the dial below it I can still use the washer. Is it my knob that is bad or the timer. I took the knob off and nothing seems to be broken on it but the metal shaft that it goes into wobbles a lot when the knob is pulled out to start the machine.
1 Answer Hello Ken, This is going to be either the dial assembly WH11X10049, the control knob assembly WH01X10310, or the timer assembly WH12X10527. You will need to pull the knob off to inspect the parts to determine the part at fault. To remove the knob straighten a paper clip and make a 1/8 inch 90° bend at the very end of it. Use this to hook the timer knob clip WH1X2117 and pull it out from the side. The knobs will then slip off. Read More...
Curt November 06, 2014 for Model Number HTWP1400F1WW This washer has been working erratically, sometimes it would work and then not, thought it might have been bad lid switch ordered one installed and doing the same as before. Any ideas as to what might be going on? Timer Maybe?
1 Answer Hello Curt. Look on top of the motor for a flashing green light. Count the number of flashes and this is an error code for the unit. If there is no error, then replace the timer. Read More...
