Dan for Model Number JVM1870BF07 So I have tried three new motors to fix a turntable that intermittently wouldn't turn, then quit turning altogether. The new motors wouldn't turn with the 19.3 volts that the motor wires were reading (actually fluctuated between 19.3-21.2 with several test cycles). otherwise the microwave seems to work great. Can a motor be that picky? The motor was tested with a 24v transformer I had laying around, and it turned. In fact, the original 10 yr old motor turned with 24v. When I tried another transformer rated at 19v, both hummed for a split second, and then nothing. Again, the motor won't work at all if 1-2 volts low? Is there a replacement board, and how much is it, and it within the "DIY" category?? thanks!
Answer Dan, The control board for this model is part number WB27X10873 and yes a voltage drop will cause the unit to not operate. This motor is a 24 v motor and you have to consider a 10% variance of voltage is allowable so that would be between 21 and 27 operating volts that would be necessary for operation. Read More...
