John for Model Number gtdp490gd2ws There was a large electrical spark that occurred within the control panel of my dryer followed my a little smoke. I believe one of the control knobs has fried but cannot see any evidence of scorching on the rear of any of the controls. Is there a way that I can test each one so that I do not purchase the incorrect one?
Answer John, To test each one of the switches you will need to have the wiring diagram to be sure of which is the common and then test for continuity from common to each of the terminals in the different settings of the switch.
