Don April 05, 2024 for Model Number DPSR610EG2WT No matter what temp setting, dryer only heats high temp
1 Answer Don, with the power cord unplugged, the heating element WE11M23 would need to be tested for continuity to the tub and the element element housing. If there is continuity, the element would need to be replaced. If there is not continuity, the temperature selector WE4M406 would need to be tested for continuity from terminal 7 to terminal 8, and terminal 7 to terminal 6 when it is set to low temp. If there is not continuity, the temperature selector has failed. Read More...
Steve January 26, 2023 for Model Number DWSR405GB1WW dryer stopped before end of cycle. Turned the rotary start switch and started again but only while I hold the switch. Replaced the switch from local supplier still works the same. If I hold the switch in the start position the dryer will run and fire and dry till I let go. Is there a circuit breaker in the in the line somewhere?
1 Answer Steve, If the dryer shuts off when you release the start button then this will be a motor issue. Read More...
Glenn September 26, 2018 for Model Number PTDN600EM0WT DRYER WILL NOT START THE START BUTTOM FEELS SOFT OTHER THAT THERE IS NOTHING
1 Answer Glenn, That button can be tested for continuity. Other than that you have to make sure door switch is not broke or failed, the voltage needs to be 240 vac at the terminal block. If all these test good you will need to check the all thermostats and fuses on the rear heater assembly for continuity. You can also open the door and hold the door switch press start and turn the drum by hand if it starts your motor needs replaced. Read More...

Bill June 07, 2017 for Model Number GTDP490ED2WS Dryer will not turn on. Tested fuse and it is ok. I did notice that the vent was very restricted. I was able to rotate drum and it seemed ok.
1 Answer Bill, You will need to check the fuse on the blower housing to make sure that it is good. If this is good then test the door switch to make sure that it is good. These would be the most likely causes for the unit not running. Read More...

So I want a second opinion, what do you think?
