Fred for Model Number DCS 6 burner range RGS-366SS I installed all new piping and put a gauge on to check for leaks. I thought I had turned off all the Valves but I forgot the one for the range. I pumped in the air pressure in the new piping and no problem with 20 lbs of pressure. I was told that i need to increase the pressure to really make sure it will not leak, now with the gas range valve being in the open position, I think I may have destroyed the valve. As I increased the air pressure it got up to about 40 lbs. and then all of a sudden the pressure dropped and I heard the air leaking from the range. I figured to much air pressure in the safety valve. With the valve on the range closed it holds air pressure but as I open the valve is leaks out very slowly. I think its the valve What do you think ?
Answer Fred, You also want to check the regulator [210663]. With that much pressure, they usually "lock up" and won't operate. On the other hand you may have damaged both, the regulator and the safety valve [210782] under the circumstances, you should seriously consider replacing both parts, just to be Safe. Read More...
