Steve H. for Model Number GE#JGSP28BEK2BB Should the hot surface ignitor remain glowing after the burner is lit? it appears that the HSI glows as long as there is a call for burner heat. This happens to the broiler also ,which is a a separate burner/HSI. The amp draw for tha HSI is 3.6-3.8amps @128VAC. can this be correct, or is the module/gas valve bad?
Answer Hi Steve. Yes, the Hot Surface indicator should stay on while the burner is lit. The gas valve amperage is correct as the burner is working and gas is flowing properly.Your valve is OK. Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, September 28, 2011
