Don for Model Number jgsp28sek2ss We replaced the oven igniter and it works great now. We can still smell propane in oven. We checked for leaks but could find none.
Answer Hello Don, The presence of the propane additive odor is normal in a gas unit when the unit is first lit. The gas escapes when the gas valve is opened and it takes several seconds to light. If you have checked for leaks with lightly soaped water, (one teaspoon to a quart of water), and no bubbles were observed, the odor you are experiencing is probably from the normal operation of the ignition system. If you are terribly worried, most utility boards will come out and check for free. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 17, 2012
