Rk Smith for Model Number WJSR2080T2WW My agitator was floating in the water. Something has been wrong with it for a couple of weeks. I just noticed that the agitator would NOT stay down during the washing. I think that the agitator coupler needs replaced. I ordered the agitator coupler after I watched a video on replacing the agitator coupler. I CAN NOT get the old coupler off. I unscrewed the bolt from the coupler without difficulty, but now I can't get the old coupler to lift out. What am I doing wrong? Is there something else after the bolt on the coupler to remove? Thanks, RK
Answer RK, It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. The coupler can seize to the agitator shaft, after a few years of usage. After the agitator and coupler bolt are removed, a few drops or rust blaster or penetrating oil may help to make it easier to remove the coupler, You can also "cut" the coupler into pieces and remove it using a "Dremel" tool as a last resort. Don't forget to check the locking tabs on the center of the bottom of the agitator, if they are broken or damaged, the agitator will not secure to the coupler properly. Thanks, Read More...
