Richard B. for Model Number LSC27931 My refer is 4 years old. I HAVE CHANGED THE ICEMAKER FIVE TIMES. The symptoms are always the same. After running a few months an icicle forms on the left of icemaker drips down an freezes the ice bin limit lever and ice maker stops working. I have traced the drip to the harvester wiper. What to do to remedy this problem. Ice maker should last longer than this. PS I CAN PULL OUT THE BIN LEVER AN IT WORKS FINE EXCEPT IT WON'T SHUT OFF. THANKS.
Answer Richard, It sounds like the water is splashing out of the icemaker, possibly from the door closing. When the unit icemaker arm freezes you do not want to pull on the lever. Instead take out the ice bin and use low heat to melt the ice from the arm and dry it. This will eliminate the arm being damaged by pulling on it because once you pull on it to free it up then it is damaged and will most likely not work. Read More...
