The LG lever button is an OEM replacement part responsible for enabling the dispensing of ice from the refrigerator's ice maker. This part is located on the front panel of the refrigerator ice and water dispenser area. When the ice lever actuator is pressed it activates the mechanism that dispenses ice into a glass or container.

Over time, the lever button can become worn out or damaged due to frequent use, physical impact, or accidental mishandling. If the button fails, it can hinder the functionality of the dispenser, making it difficult to obtain water or ice.

Symptoms of a bad lever button include:

  • Difficulty in pressing or activating the dispenser
  • The dispenser not responding when the button is pressed
  • The lever button feeling loose or unstable
  • Visible cracks or damage on the button

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Anthony for Model Number LFXS29766S/01

My LG Refrigerator water dispenser lever suddenly became loose and wobbly. During my troubleshooting, I removed the lever from the dispenser, where I found on the backside (4) tabs but only (1) spring was in place, where it appeared (3) were missing. The spring are just standard round springs (not the ones I've seen in the parts list that have the flat straight ends) My QUESTION: Should there be more that (1) spring and if so, are these round springs available to purchase? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Answer

Anthony, There would only be one spring behind the dispenser lever if there was supposed to be one. Normally the lever will have a spring on the rod that holds the lever in place and not behind it. It does not appear as though the spring is available as part of this unit.
