I H L for Model Number DLGX3471V I made the mistake of purchasing two sets of LG washers/dryers. My basement was being remodeled for most of the first year the manufacturer's warranty covered. The lint screens on both dryers allow lint to get past them and I have repeatedly dug all of the lint out (the lint itself is what the screens are sitting on causing them to be raised and rip thousands of dollars worth of clothes, sheets, etc.). I have contacted LG several times as they are only 1.5 years old and have been promised that they will be repaired and replaced for free by two different people. But they fail to give me an accurate e-mail to submit the pictures, model/serial numbers to, and I am beyond frustrated. I will tell everyone I know about this bad experience and will never buy another LG product as long as I live! HORRIBLE! I pretty much have to watch the clothes so they don't get torn because they get stuck every 4-7 minutes. It is time consuming to dig the lint out to have it be plugged up again a week later. :( My question for you is, will replacing the dryer lint filters on machines that have only been used for approximately 6 months do the trick? I don't want to give LG any additional time or money for something that will not work. I feel like they've robbed me of so much already.
Answer I H L, With the issue of the lint filter lifting up and causing tears in the clothing, it would most likely be a possible overloading issue. There will be some lint that gets past the filter but it should not fall back into the unit. A new lint filter may correct this issue. The part number for the lint filter is 5231EL1003B. Read More...
