Paul A for Model Number LMXS30776S Why does ice keep building up behind the LG LMXS30776S ice maker cooling fan (cause of the fan noise) and no where else on the cooling fins/coil in the freezer? It looks like the defrost cycle is working on the rest of the fins, and there are none near this second fan on the back wall. Is it a design flaw?? This unit was purchased in 2017.
Answer Paul, In most cases the ice build up is caused by air leak allowing warmer air to migrate to the ice maker fan. This creates moisture which then freezes because of the section not draining properly when ice builds up and melts during defrost. Read More...
