Doug B for Model Number Lg dle5977w Dryer won't heat up. Replaced the thermal fuse. Dryer heated up and we let it run for about 15 minutes. Later in the day we added clothes to the dryer and it never heated back up. Performed a thorough cleaning of the dryer and vent all the way to the exit of the house. Any ideas??
Answer Doug, You would want to test the thermal fuse and thermostats on the unit to make sure that they are good. This would be the most likely causes of failure. Also check to make sure that the venting is clean and clear. If the thermal fuse on the heater is blowing then it may be the heater relay on the control board being stuck closed causing the heater to stay on. Read More...
