Russell for Model Number 795.71314.312 The water feed seems to freeze at the ice maker and then backs up and exits from the back of the refrigerator. I have seen references to low water pressure. How does that cause freezing and/or blockage?
Answer Hello Russell, There is no spring inside the water inlet valve to aid in its' closure. It is closed by water pressure alone. If insufficient water pressure is supplied to the valve it will close too slowly causing water to be able to "weep" past the seal. This slow weepage will freeze as the water slowly enters the freezing temperatures of the freezer compartment before it can exit the fill tube. Read More...
