Frustrated for Model Number LFC21776D Ice maker fills and freezes, just won’t dump. When I press test button it dumps and fills fine. Ice cubes normal size and not overfilling.... manual says that the ice section sensor may need cleaning but no where can I find information on where this sensor is located. I’ve wiped ice maker down several times. Didn’t seem to make a difference. Is the sensor internal? Another article says ice maker won’t dump when it senses the door open. Can’t for the life of me figure out where the door switches are... Do either of these causes sound legit? If so can you tell me where to find the sensor and/or switch? Or does it sound like the ice maker itself is bad. Not to long ago after not working for awhile it started making more ice than it ever did, filling the tray completely full for the first time since we got the refrigerator now nothing freezing but not dumping. Does it sound like the ice maker needs to be replaced?
Answer Frustrated, If the icemaker will cycle when you push the test button but will not cycle on its own then this would be a faulty icemaker that would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, December 5, 2019
