Jason K. for Model Number Kenmore Model#795.76204.901 Our ice bin was taken out and when it was put back in it was in backwards. The top tray in the freezer was then pulled open and the ice bin caught on the arm for the ice maker. I believe that this is the arm tells if the tray is full or not. Currently if the arm is in the up position the top tray can be opened, but no ice is being made. If it is in the down position the top tray can not be pulled out as the ice tray catches on it. With it in the down position it is not making any ice either. I also pushed the test button on the bottom of the ice maker and nothing happened. The ice tray is not even filling up with water. I did check the lines going to the solenoid valve and they are clear and the water is on. I also ohmed out the solenoid and it was at 389 ohms, telling me that it is okay. Not sure where to go from here. I was possibly thinking that the ice maker motor or gears were damaged when the arm was bound up. If you have any other ideas I would appreciate it before I order a new ice maker from you.
Answer Hello Jason. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the icemaker AEQ72909602 got damaged and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, July 4, 2012
