Dave for Model Number AP5959515 Just installed new LG ice maker, noticed in description it says "takes 12 to 24 hours" for new ice maker to start producing ice. Why so long? I figured once install is completed the the cube area on unit freezes up, it would signal unit to deliver water to reservoir.
Answer Dave, it takes this long for the ice maker to produce ice due to it having to get cold enough for it to cycle, freeze the water that it calls for, then go into a second cycle.
