Curt for Model Number LFXS30766 - LG Refrigerator My ice maker has not been working so I was getting ready to order the Ice Mold AEQ73209904. Yesterday it started making some ice again. Is that a symptom of an ice maker on the way out or could there be another issue causing it to not make ice and then start again?
Answer Curt, there could be a different issue going on that could cause this failure. The first thing that would need to be identified is the actual temperature in the ice container section. If the temperature is not maintained at 1°F or less, the ice maker fan in the freezer section would need to be inspected for any ice build-up. If it is being maintained, the button in the pinhole of the ice maker motor would need to be pressed using a small tool to place it into a test mode. This will allow the ice maker to be observed to see if it operates properly. It should rotate the rake arms to dump the ice and then fill with water for 9 to 12 seconds. Read More...
