Mindy for Model Number lrsc2690tt I'm trying to figure out what the "overload protector" does. It sounds like it might be some sort of fuse? I'm trying to figure out which part to order. After attempting to put a light bulb in (wrong bulb) all my lights blew out and I than realized I also had no water/ice dispensing, now although I hear a fan running my frig/freezer isn't working either. There was some sort of code on the display but I didnt pay much attention to it, I decided to unplug the unit to see if it would reset and lost the code. After doing some research I'm thinking or hoping this overload protector my have blown? or possibly a relay? worse case the main control board? I would think there would be some sort of fuse to blow before your entire frig fries!Although I'm finding LG products to have some serious design flaws so who knows. Any advice would be appreciated. Mindy
Answer Mindy, The overload protector is to keep the compressor from overheating and would have nothing to do with the issue you are having. The most likely cause for the unit would be a faulty main control board. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, August 25, 2014
