Matt H for Model Number WM2487HRM Our washer has been acting up for a couple years now. It started by sometimes not fully completing a wash cycle and shutting off. It would go through all the step and clean, rinse and spin the load but when it was done it would unlock the door and then not fully reset and turn off. The interior light would stay on and in order to user it again you would have to unplug the unit and replug it back in. Then it would work fine. It may do this behavior for three or four loads in a row and then not do it again for a week or a month. So it was just more of an annoyance than anything. Recently it started giving the IE error code mid load. At first we just restarted the load and went on. This occurred maybe a dozen times. Finally the unit started to make a humming noise and the clothes are not getting wet at all.
Answer Matt, This issue with the IE error code would be caused by a water inlet error. You will want to check the screens in the water valve to make sure that the screens are not clogged. Also check to make sure that the water valve is getting power when the unit is supposed to be putting water in. The most likely cause if this is not the problem would be the main control board.
