Daniel for Model Number WM2487HWM My washer was giving me an OE error. First, I tested the ohms on the drain pump and it tested fine. Second, I then hooked the pump to 120v direct and the pump works. Third, I hooked up a multi meter to the leads of the drain pump. When I plugged the machine in it was reading a small voltage. (I will test again tonight to get correct voltage.) I then ran the machine in the rinse spin cycle and the multi meter read 120V. I hooked the pump back up and it didn't work so I touched the multi meter to the leads connected to the pump and it read less than 5 volts. The machine works as it should up until the drain cycle. Is the mother board shot or is there something else I need to test? Please guide me in the correct direction.
Answer Daniel, With the OE error and low voltage at the drain pump connectors, you need to check the wires between the drain pump and the control board. If all's OK, suspect the main control board. You may also want to disconnect the air tube from the pressure switch, check the tube for kinks and twists, and blow in the end of the tube, to make sure it's not clogged with sediment or debris, if alls OK replace the control board.
