Jon T. for Model Number lg lfx21971st My LG French door refrigerator icemaker stopped working then shortly thereafter freezer was in a thaw now I am noticing the fridge is not getting cold enough. Is there no end to this madness!! hoping it's something simple. Please help!!
Answer Jon T., This issue could be caused by several things. The first thing to check would be the evaporator coils in the freezer. Check the frost pattern on them and see what the pattern looks like. If it is where there is very little frost on the coils, like where it comes in and starts frost and goes down one or 2 loops then no frost at all on the lower section then the issue would be a sealed system problem. If the coils are impacted by ice then the issue would be with the defrost system. You would want to check the defrost sensor to see if it is good and if it checks ok then the issue would be with the control board. If the evaporator coil has no frost pattern at all then you will want to check to see if the compressor is running. If it is and there is no frost pattern at all then the issue will be in the sealed system. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, August 29, 2014
