Part Number: OEM13315920
Manufacturer Part Number: 4036ER2004A

The Tub Seal Gasket is an OEM part for LG washing machines. It creates a tight seal between the inner and outer tubs during the wash cycle, preventing leaks and containing water. The gasket helps prevent water from escaping the tub.

Causes of a bad gasket can include wear and tear from repeated use over time, exposure to cleaning chemicals or extreme temperatures, or damage from handling heavy loads.

Symptoms of a bad gasket include:

  • Water leaking from the outer tub during operation
  • Excessive moisture in areas surrounding the washer
  • The tub making creaking or grinding noises
  • Decreased washing or spinning performance

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Jeff F. for Model Number LG WM1832CW

I followed your video on the LG washing machine (awesome) to get to the washing machine bearing but I pounded it for hours using both WD 40 and BP Blaster to help loosen up the bearing from the tub but no luck. I since put everything back together and it still works but is still loud. Although the bearing is loud, it still spins very freely. Any suggestions on how to get the bearing free? The 2 videos I saw show 1-2 taps with a hammer and it's out. Is something different on the LG MW1832CW? Everything else follows very well. Are there any tricks to removing the bearing? We have very hard water here in Albuquerque. Will this effect how to remove the bearing? Thanks

Answer

Hello Jeff, The videos never show the problems encountered with certain parts that commonly occur. The only trick to removing the tub bearings is to use a long punch and reach through the forst bearing to drive out the innermost one first. You have to work your way around the bearing as you pound on it to avoid seizing the bearing in the plastic housing at a slant. When the innermost bearing is driven out from the outer tub assembly, you can then begin removing the outer bearing in the same direction but can be driven out with a socket to drive it out straight, (without cocking the bearing).. These can be hard to remove and a lubricant is not recommended by the manufacturer because of its' interaction with the plastic outer tub material. If a lubricant is needed, I always use a liquid soap. If mineral deposits are present, a mineral removal product can be used but be sure not to allow it to stand on the plastic outer tub material for any length of time to avoid unrepairable damage.
