Manufacturer Part Number: 4036ER2004A

The Tub Seal Gasket is an OEM part for LG washing machines. It creates a tight seal between the inner and outer tubs during the wash cycle, preventing leaks and containing water. The gasket helps prevent water from escaping the tub.

Causes of a bad gasket can include wear and tear from repeated use over time, exposure to cleaning chemicals or extreme temperatures, or damage from handling heavy loads.

Symptoms of a bad gasket include:

  • Water leaking from the outer tub during operation
  • Excessive moisture in areas surrounding the washer
  • The tub making creaking or grinding noises
  • Decreased washing or spinning performance

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Answer

Hi John. From the inside of the tub with the inner basket out, you will be able to see the outer seal part # 4036ER2004A. Then there is a inner bearing part # 4280EN4001C. Then there is the outer bearing which you can view from the rear of the tub. Part # 4280EN4001F. The spider support bolted to the back of the inner basket is part # 4434ER0002H. The support shaft which passes through the tub bearings need to be perfectly smooth clean. Inspect where the old seal mated with the shaft and see if there is any grooves. If so it is highly advised to replace both the seal and the spider shaft. This way all your work wont be done in vain. If you take a chance and change just the bearings and seal, it may seal OK for some time. But spinning speed at such high RPM (1,100) it wont last long without a leak. Thank You.
