Chuck for Model Number LSC27950ST The problem started with the ice door not opening. The lever on the ice door which hooks under the solenoid had melted off. I replaced the door and solenoid and it promptly happened again. This time there was a loud buzzing noise for 5 sec after The dispensing switch stopped. Is there a solenoid controller that needs to be replaced? Could I have switched the wires going to solenoid? Any help would be advantageous THANKS Chuck
Answer Chuck, for the door chute to melt, either the solenoid or the door chute heater would need to be continuously receiving voltage, causing heat to occur. This can be caused by a shorted wire that is preventing the main control from being able to open the relays properly, or from the main control failing. Unfortunately, the main control board 6871JB1440A has been discontinued and is no longer available. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 5, 2020
