The Thermistor is an OEM replacement part for LG gas ranges. It serves as a highly sensitive temperature sensor mounted inside the oven cavity.

Symptoms of a bad thermistor include:

  • Inability to select certain cooking modes like bake or convection that involve temperature control
  • Fluctuating or inaccurate temperature readouts on oven displays
  • Irregular cooking outcomes like hot/cold spots inside the oven
  • Repeated error codes regarding temperature sensing issues

Causes can be attributed to prolonged exposures to heat and intermittent combustion byproducts inside the oven. Over a decade of use, these conditions may degrade the thermal and electrical properties of sensor components.

This genuine LG replacement thermistor installs effortlessly. Installing a new thermistor restores temperature monitoring required for reliable gas oven performance.

Answer

Scott, There are a couple of possibilities that you can test to make sure you order the right part. The error code is saying oven not heating. So we will test the bake element and the temp sensor for resistance. If these tests pass then we will replace the control board. The temp sensor should read 1090 ohms of resistance at room temp give or take a little. The bake element should have a resistance of 16 to 17 give or take a little. Test these part at the part itself. You are hearing the relay clicking on the control but it could be damaged internally and not actually closing to allow voltage to the element.
