The Thermistor is an OEM replacement part for LG gas ranges. It serves as a highly sensitive temperature sensor mounted inside the oven cavity.

Symptoms of a bad thermistor include:

  • Inability to select certain cooking modes like bake or convection that involve temperature control
  • Fluctuating or inaccurate temperature readouts on oven displays
  • Irregular cooking outcomes like hot/cold spots inside the oven
  • Repeated error codes regarding temperature sensing issues

Causes can be attributed to prolonged exposures to heat and intermittent combustion byproducts inside the oven. Over a decade of use, these conditions may degrade the thermal and electrical properties of sensor components.

This genuine LG replacement thermistor installs effortlessly. Installing a new thermistor restores temperature monitoring required for reliable gas oven performance.

Kenneth, thanks for the question. The sensor/thermistor can be checked with a multimeter.

Joe, the sensor probe EBG61305805 can be heated with a hair dryer (or other device) to test the resistance increase as it warms up. The resistance should increase 2 Ohms for every 1°F warmer that it gets. If the sensor still tests good, the main control EBR73811705 would be the cause of failure.

Mike, the oven sensor EBG61305805 should measure between 1080 to 1100 Ohms at room temperature. As it is reading excessively higher, the sensor has failed and should be replaced.

Lorenzo, An F3 error code will indicate a key short on the touchpad. Check the ribbon harness on the touchpad and if it is fully seated into the control board and no corrosion then replace the touchpad.

Scott, There are a couple of possibilities that you can test to make sure you order the right part. The error code is saying oven not heating. So we will test the bake element and the temp sensor for resistance. If these tests pass then we will replace the control board. The temp sensor should read 1090 ohms of resistance at room temp give or take a little. The bake element should have a resistance of 16 to 17 give or take a little. Test these part at the part itself. You are hearing the relay clicking on the control but it could be damaged internally and not actually closing to allow voltage to the element.

Hello Mike, You should first test the oven temperature sensor EBG61305805. It should read a resistance of 1090 ohms at 77° and would add 2 ohms for every 1 degree of temperature increase. If this tests good, the issue will be with the ignitor MEE61841401 or the main board EBR82400901. I'm sorry but this part EBR82400901 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
