This water inlet valve is a genuine OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in washing machines. The water inlet valve is the gatekeeper for the water flow into the washer. When the operator sets the wash cycle, the solenoid fires up and tells the valve to open the gate for hot or cold water or both to fill the washer tub. When the tub has filled to a preset level, the valve gates close and the water flow stops. If this valve fails, the water will not stop and will eventually flood or the water might not be signaled to flow at all. This repair requires a Phillips screwdriver and pliers. Disconnect the power source and turn the water off before working on the washing machine. Remove the back panel from the washer and locate the inlet valve. Disconnect the hoses from the valve. Remove the damaged valve. Install the new inlet valve. Connect the hoses in the same order they were removed and put the back panel on the washer.
